Studio RDN-X is a RIBA-registered architecture and spatial design practice based in North London. We deliver architectural services from Stage 0 strategy through to construction — for private clients, developers, institutions and cultural organisations.
Architecture in North London
Studio RDN-X was founded and is directed by Renata Dickson-Nwosu — an ARB and RIBA-registered architect with a practice rooted in North London and an international portfolio spanning the UK, Nigeria and West Africa. We work across residential, cultural and research-led typologies, with deep experience in the urban and planning contexts of North and East London — including Tottenham, Haringey, Hackney, Islington and Camden. We understand the grain of these places: their heritage constraints, their planning frameworks, their communities and their potential. Our architecture is rigorous, materially intelligent and culturally considered. We do not produce generic solutions. Every project is treated as a distinct spatial problem with its own logic, constraints and opportunities.
Architectural Services
We offer a complete architectural service across all RIBA stages: Stage 0 — Strategic Definition: brief development, feasibility, risk mapping, go/no-go analysis. Stage 1 — Preparation and Brief: site analysis, planning context, project brief, concept strategy. Stage 2 — Concept Design: spatial strategy, design direction, planning pre-application. Stage 3 — Developed Design: technical development, planning applications, listed building consent. Stage 4 — Technical Design: construction documentation, specification, structural and services coordination. Stage 5 — Construction: contractor procurement, site administration, quality oversight. We are experienced in planning applications, listed building consent, prior approval, and planning appeals. We have worked on projects requiring heritage consultations, structural engineering coordination, and complex planning policy navigation.
Residential Architecture
Our residential work spans high-end private homes, extensions, loft conversions, basement excavations, and whole-house transformations — including Grade II listed buildings. Our residential philosophy centres on spatial precision, material restraint and the quiet luxury of spaces designed to be lived in rather than merely admired. Projects like Kirk Hill — a Grade II listed residential transformation in Nottingham — demonstrate our capacity to navigate heritage constraints while delivering environments of genuine spatial and material quality. We work with private clients who value design intelligence, clear communication and precise delivery. We take on a limited number of residential projects at any time to ensure every client receives the attention their project deserves.
Cultural and Research-Led Work
Beyond residential practice, Studio RDN-X operates across cultural, civic and research-led architecture. Through our work with Design Associates Africa and our Spatial Systems research programme, we bring an unusually broad frame of reference to every project. This means we approach architecture not just as building design but as spatial strategy — understanding how buildings perform within broader social, cultural and urban systems. This perspective makes us particularly strong on complex projects, heritage contexts, and new typologies where conventional approaches fall short.
